Angkas Still Prohibited in Baguio City under GCQ

The city government, through the Public Information Office-City of Baguio (PIO-Baguio), has announced that the policy on allowing “angkas” in Baguio under GCQ has been withdrawn.

Angkas Not Allowed in Baguio City under GCQ

According to a Facebook post by PIO-Baguio,  this has been decided upon because angkas is strictly prohibited by the National Inter-Agency Task Force’s (IATF) directives which dictate the need to practice social distancing measures. As Mayor Benjamin Magalong said, national rules should prevail.

Furthermore, local government units are mandated by the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act to abide by the guidelines issued by the IATF. Hence, as much as the city would like to allow tangkas with strict precautionary measures, the mayor ordered that no back ride shall be allowed in Baguio.
