Forest Lodge Baguio: Surround Yourself with a Breathtaking View

The Forest Lodge at Camp John Hay was formerly known as The Suites, but has been formally named The Forest Lodge on the year 2012. The entirety of The Forest Lodge Baguio features a log cabin structure.

There are four (4) types of hotel suites that you can choose from at The Forest Lodge at Camp John Hay. Listed below, together with the rooms, are the amenities provided for each room.

Superior Room

Superior Room

A 40 square meters room that has two (2) full or double room beds designed to  accommodate a minimum capacity of two (2) guests and a maximum capacity of four (4) guests. This type of room has no veranda.

Amenities

The room amenities available in this type of room are cable TV, hot and cold shower, hair dryer, bathroom toiletries, IDD/NDD phone system, iron and ironing board, electrical outlet, umbrella, wi-fi internet access, minibar, and common hotel complimentary such as bottled water,  coffee/tea, and slippers are provided.

Deluxe

The Forest Lodge Baguio Deluxe Room

This is a 50 square meters room, equipped with two (2) full or double beds or one (1) King/Queen Bed.  This type of room has the minimum capacity of two (2) guests and a maximum capacity of four (4) guests. Deluxe also has its own private veranda where guests can enjoy the nature view.

The room amenities available are cable TV, hot and cold shower, hair dryer, bathroom toiletries, IDD/NDD phone system, iron and ironing board, electrical outlet, umbrella, wi-fi internet access and minibar.  Common hotel complimentary such as bottled water, coffee/tea, and indoor slippers are provided.

Studio Suite

This type of room has two (2) full or double bed or one (1) king-sized bed depending on availability. The room can accommodate a minimum capacity of three (3) guests and a maximum of five (5) guests. It has a living room and dining area. Studio Suite is sixty (60) – seventy (70) square meters.

The room amenities available in Studio Suite are cable TV, hot and cold shower, hair dryer, bathroom toiletries, IDD/NDD phone system, iron and ironing board, electrical outlet, umbrella, wi-fi internet access, minibar and common hotel complimentary is provided.

One Bedroom Suite

This type of room is 90 -100 square meters with living room and dining area. One Bedroom Suite has two (2) full or double beds with two (2) toilets and bathroom. The room can accommodate a minimum capacity of three (3) guests and a maximum of six (6) guests. 

Common hotel complimentary are provided and the room amenities available in this type of room are cable TV, hot and cold shower, hair dryer, bathroom toiletries, IDD.NDD phone system, iron and ironing board, electrical outlet, umbrella, wi-fi internet access and minibar.

Hotel Lobby

Let’s start by the Hotel Lobby. It is located by the upper ground floor of the hotel which provides a spacious area for the guests to unwind, and for checking-in and checking-out guests to wait. The wi-fi connection in this area is working well, so whether you are waiting for your hotel room to be ready or simply wanted to pass by time, stay connected, play your mobile games, and maybe snap some photos to update your friends in your social media accounts.

The Gift Shop

The Shop is located at the upper ground floor of the hotel. It is the hotel’s gift shop where souvenirs of The Forest Lodge at Camp John Hay can be bought by the guests. Items such as pouches, bags, mugs, shirts, sports jug, and other hotel memorabilia are available.

The Music Room

Aside from the hotel rooms, the hotel’s Music Room is one of the hotel facilities with the most relaxing ambiance. So it would be worthwhile to simply sit within this room and enjoy the music.

Coffee Stains

A cafe located inside the hotel where guests can visit to have some refreshments and desserts. It is 24-hours open to serve not only hotel guests but also the customers of the cafe itself.

The Twist

A restaurant located at the lobby of the hotel where guests can enjoy their breakfast, lunch and dinner. Their operating hours for breakfast is from 6:30 am – 10:30 am while for lunch is from 10:30 am – 4:00 pm and for dinner is from 4:00 pm – 10:30 pm. The restaurant strictly follows a smart casual dress code.

19th T

The Forest Lodge Baguio 19th T

This is one of the hotel’s function rooms where mid-sized events such as weddings, meetings, parties, and the like can be held. 19th T can accommodate up to 200 persons. Comes with this venue is its veranda with a stunning overlooking view of nature.

The Kiddie Corner

Kiddie Corner, The Forest Lodge at Camp John Hay’s indoor playground, is located just at the hotel’s lobby, beside The Gift Shop. Guests’ children can play here instead of the outdoor playground if the weather wouldn’t permit. So rain or shine, there’s a place for the kids to have fun during their stay in the hotel.

The Art Gallery

The Art Gallery is open 24 hours and it definitely is a place that guests can visit. The hotel’s art gallery’s walls are decorated with various of art pieces from local artists.

First time guests may not know this is a thing in the hotel, so here you go. The Forest lodge’s Art Gallery is a corner in the hotel where art pieces of different artists are displayed where guests can actually visit and check while staying at the hotel. One of the best parts of the Art Gallery is the painting of Resty Lopez on the wall  where guests can have instagrammable photos.

Staying indoors will give you a cozy experience, but setting your foot outside will let you see the beauty of nature that surrounds the hotel’s facade. 

TFL Slope

This is one of the first parts of the hotel that will welcome guests upon driving their way through the hotel’s entrance. There’s a garden, big animal figures, and spelled out TFL letters.

Having mentioned the hotel’s parking area, there’s just a good news for you. The Forest Lodge at Camp John Hay has a spacious outdoor parking area within the vicinity that  is allotted for the guests.

Since smoking cigarettes and e-cigarettes is strictly prohibited within the hotel rooms and balconies, do know that there are two designated smoking areas located outside – one near the driveway entrance and the other by the hotel parking area.

Outdoor Playground

Aside from the mini indoor playroom located at The Exit, there’s also an Outdoor Playground by the side of the hotel, located near the hotel’s parking area. Breathe in fresh air and accompany your children under the clear blue sky.

Helipad

Yes, there’s a helipad and it is located at the rooftop. Stunning mountain view and aerial view of the hotel vicinity. However, do know that this is actually one of the restricted areas of the hotel. It is off-limits to the guests. We’ve featured this part of the hotel for you to see how wonderful the area surrounding the hotel is.

The Forest Lodge at Camp John Hay may not be located at the heart of Baguio City, but it doesn’t mean that it would kind of hinder you to wander from one of the city’s amazing places to another. The hotel’s location would actually let you explore the hidden beauty of the City of Pines.

Within Camp John Hay

Let’s start with the most accessible ones – the tourist attractions within the Camp John Hay itself. Listed below are some of the places within Camp John Hay that you might want to visit after checking-in The Forest Lodge at Camp John Hay.

Yellow Trail and Eco Trail

Since the hotel is located around Camp John Hay guests who want to relax and be refreshed, they can easily visit these trails where they can hike, jog, and walk.

Butterfly Sanctuary

As the attraction’s name goes – Butterfly Sanctuary – it is of course a place where you can immerse yourself within a sanctuary of butterflies.

Cemetery of Negativism

Buried beneath the tombstones aren’t corpses, so worry not. This is a cemetery where negativism are buried. Be more positive in life as you leave this attraction.

Bell House & Bell Amphitheatre

Both the Bell House and the Bell Amphitheater are historical landmarks tourist and locals alike should visit. More historical relics and collections can be found within the Bell House.

Outside Camp John Hay

Camp John Hay is composed by great tourist destinations on its own alright, but there are also other places here in Baguio City that you can access hassle free when you book your stay at The Forest Lodge at Camp John Hay.

The Mansion

It is known to be the official summer palace of the Philippines President. Tourists cannot actually enter and see what’s inside but a space is given enough for the guests to capture the view of The Mansion . 

Wright Park

After checking The Mansion,  few steps away is Wright Park, the main attraction here is renting horse to ride. Aside from that, guests can actually jog, walk and have picnics. Around the park are stalls of pasalubongs and local products where guests can buy gifts and souvenirs.

Mines View Park

A popular sightseeing spot in Baguio City where guests can actually enjoy the panoramic views of the mountains. The best time to do sightseeing  here is during sunrise. 

Botanical Garden 

A place where you can see a variety of plants, artistic structures and friendship garden.

Burnham Park

The widest park in the city and the best place to do outdoor activities such as boating and biking.

Baguio Cathedral

The most popular church in Baguio City and very accessible for guests to visit because it’s located in the heart of the city. 

Our Lady of Lourdes Cathedral

A Catholic Shrine and pilgrimage site located on the top of Mirador Hill. To reach the top visitors must climb more or less 250 steps. 

Diplomat Hotel 

For a spooky adventure, guests can visit one of the haunted places here in Baguio which is the Diplomat Hotel. Exploring the place is also learning about its history and appreciating the structure of the hotel which was built years ago. 

Those are the tourist attraction you may visit hassle-free from Forest Lodge Baguio’s location, but it doesn’t mean that you should just limit your escapade on the mentioned destinations.
