The Whole Municipality of Lagawe, Ifugao is Placed Under Lockdown







Lagawe Municipal Mayor Martin Habawel Jr. has placed  the whole municipality under a temporary lockdown for a period of two (2) days, which may still be further extended later as may be necessary. This announcement has been made today, July 20, 2020 through a COVID-19 Advisory published by the LGU Lagawe earlier before noon.

Why Lagawe is Placed Under Lockdown

Positive COVID-19 Cases have been Recorded

On a previous COVID-19 Advisory released by the LGU Lagawe on July 18, 2020, it has been mentioned that Ceasar Vicente, a 27 years old, male, who is a resident of Poblacion North, has been confirmed of COVID-19. Thus, Barangay Poblacion North was then placed under temporary lockdown for a period of seventy two (72) hours.

Moreover, based on a more recent advisory released by the LGU on July 20, 2020, it has been revealed that two of the primary contacts of  Ceasar Vicente, a 13-year-old and a 15-year-old have also turned positive of COVID-19. The two have been brought to the Panopdopan District Hospital for further observation and management.

In Poblacion East, on the other hand, a 20-year-old female residing in Mak-mak-ak has also turned positive of COVID-19. According to the Office of the Local Chief Executive, she will be brought to IGH-Natuwolan for proper care and management.






Lockdown is Placed to Facilitate Contact Tracing

For the Municipal Local Government Unit of Lagawe to be able to effectively respond to the current COVID-19 emergency by facilitating contact tracing, testing, quarantine, and disinfection relative to the newly confirmed COVID-19 cased at Poblacion North and Poblacion East, the whole Municipality has been placed under a temporary lockdown.

Establishments Directed to Close

With this crisis, all offices and establishments within the Municipality of Lagawe are also directed to close effective immediately; except the following:

  • Philippine National Police,
  • Health offices,
  • the DRRMOs,
  • Drugstores,
  • Groceries,
  • Public Market,
  • Gasoline Stations
  • and other indispensable establishments.

Total Liquor Ban and Curfew

Total liquor ban is also in effect and curfew from 6:00 PM to 5:00 AM will be enforced. Also, persons aged twenty one (21) and below or persons sixty (60) years old and above must stay at home unless for emergency reason.
