Tesla CEO Elon Musk Overtakes Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, Musk Now the World’s Richest Person

Amazon Founder and CEO Jeff Bezos has been known as the richest person in the world since 2017, but this year, there is a new name owning the status. That’s right, someone has already overtaken Bezos and the new world’s richest person is no other than Tesla CEO and the man behind SpaceX, Elon Musk.

This latest update was provided in the Bloomberg Billionaires Index which features a ranking of the five hundred (500) wealthiest people in the world. “Musk is worth $194.8 billion, or $9.5 billion more than Bezos,” stated Bloomberg, the global business and financial information and news leader, on their report as of January 8, 2021, 6:33 AM (GMT+8).

Other than Bezos, well-known billionaires such as Microsoft founder Bill Gates and Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg, among others, are also below the Tesla CEO at the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

So What Does Elon Musk has Say

The Tesla Owners of Silicon Valley Twitter account (@teslaownersSV) has made a tweet saying “@elonmusk is now the richest person in the world at $190 billion.” And Elon Musk has given a short and simple reply toward the news as if is is not a big deal at all. “How strange,” stated the wealthiest person in the world. “Well, back to work…”

A writer/author, Ashlee Vance (@ashleevance), also made a tweet acknowledging how far Musk has come. “When I set out to write a bio on @elonmusk, he was worth but a paltry few billion. Did not really think I’d end up writing about the richest person in the world because his companies were so risky,” he wrote.

Vance has narrated a few more details about the new riches person in the world, and as a reply, Musk simply said, “True.”
