Religious Gatherings in Benguet: 10% seating Capacity Allowed

The Office of the Governor of the Province of Benguet has ordered amendment to Section 10 of Executive Order No. 2020-043, approved by Provincial Governor Melchor Diclas, MD on Monday, July 6, 2020. This is to harmonize with IATF Resolution No. 51, dated July 2, 2020.

What is Executive Order No. 2020-043

The Executive Order No. 2020-043 is “an order reiterating the revised guidelines on the implementation of a General Community Quarantine (GCQ) in the Province of Benguet,” which was signed by the Provincial Governor on the first day of July 2020.

Section 10 of Executive Order No. 2020-043-A

According to Section 10 the Executive Order No. 2020-043 which has been approved on July 1, 2020, “Mass gatherings such as but not limited to concerts, sporting events, and other entertainment activities, community assemblies, and non-essential work gatherings shall be prohibited. Religious Gatherings shall be limited to not more than ten (10) persons.”

Effective after the 10th of July 2020, religious gatherings shall already be allowed up to ten percent (10%) of the seating capacity, or up to ten (10) persons, whichever is higher, as stated in the amended EO.

Here’s the entire Section 10 of Executive Order No. 2020-043-A:

“Mass gatherings such as but not limited to concerts, sporting events and other entertainment activities, community assemblies, and non-essential work gatherings shall be prohibited. Religious gatherings shall be allowed up to ten percent (10%) of the seating capacity, or up to ten (10) persons, whichever is higher, after July 10, 2020. Provided that, religious gathering shall be limited to the conduct of religious worship and/or service and with the approval of the local government unit where the religious gathering will take place. The religious denomination shall strictly observe minimum public health standards.”
