Religious and work-related gatherings still prohibited in GCQ areas

Work-related gatherings and religious gathering will remain prohibited for areas under General Community Quarantine.

This is after several officials aired their concern about the resumption of religious activities and work-related gatherings such as but not limited to conferences, conventions, and retreats, in the official GCQ guidelines set forth by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) and announced by Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque on Thursday, April 30, 2020.

“Nabago ang guidelines, bawal pa rin po ang work gathering at religious activities maski sa ilalim ng GCQ.”  According to Roque in a Laging Handa press briefing phone interview held today, officials have expressed that allowing such gatherings might defeat the purpose of preventing the further transmission and spread of the virus, which prompted the IATF-EID to go over the policy, and decided to retract their initial policy.
