Paracelis, Mt. Province Records Second COVID-19 Case




Through Executive Order No. 2020-26, which was issued today, August 13, 2020, Mayor Marcos Ayangwa has confirmed that the Municipality of Paracelis, Mt. Province has recorded its second COVID-19 case.

Second COVID-19 Case of Paracelis

Here are the following details of the second COVID-19 case of Paracelis:

  • 47-year-old Female from Sitio Makilo, Barangay Buringal.
  • She is a farmer with no travel history or direct contact with any COVID-19 positive case.
  • The second COVID-19 case of Paracelis went for a medical check-up in Quezon, Isabela last August 10, 2020 but was referred on the same day to the Kalinga Provincial Hospital where she was swabbed for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) testing.
  • Prior to the check-up of the COVID-19, she displayed symptoms of cough, fever, and body weakness.

Lockdown Order

Due to the new COVID-19 case, Mayor Ayangwa has ordered the lockdown of the whole Sitio Makilo, Barangay Buringal, Paracelis effective today until further notice. Here are the following orders that must be followed:

  • Entry to and exit from the said Sitio is prohibited for any and all reasons, except, medical emergencies requiring immediate medical assistance by the medical facilities outside the Sitio. Medical emergencies that exhibit symptoms of COVID-19 shall only be allowed upon the discretion of the Municipal Health Office and Local Chief Executive pursuant to whatever guideline applicable.
  • Within the Sitio and during the pendency of the lockdown, all issuance relative to social distancing, the prohibition of mass gatherings, curfews, home quarantines shall remain in full force and effect.
  • A liquor ban is hereby imposed and residents are not allowed to go out of their home for the duration of lockdown with the exception to those who will be issued Quarantine Passes by the Barangay to one member per family who would be allowed to buy basic goods and necessities at a designated area.
  • All previously issued travel passes to residents of Barangay Buringal are hereby canceled and for all checkpoints to confiscate the same if presented.
  • Violators of this prohibition on entry and exit shall be prosecuted for all applicable laws, statutes, and ordinances.
