The most awaited festival in Baguio City is near and just today the schedule for the Panagbenga 2018 was released to the public. The Panagbenga 2018 is the 23rd edition of this prestigious festival up north. With the theme “Celebration of Culture and Creativity” we envision the 23rd serving of the Baguio Flower Festival to focus and showcase the creativity and culture of the Cordillera region, especially so that just this 2017 Baguio City was named as one of UNESCO’s Creative City for crafts and folk arts joining the 180 network of creative cities.
Panagbenga 2018 Schedule in Focus
The Panagbenga 2018 schedule shows that the highlights of the month-long celebration will again be in focus with highlights such as the Grand Street Dance Parade and the Grand Float Parade. Everyone is also going to be given a chance to showcase their art prowess through the Let a Thousand Flowers Bloom Event during the Handog ng Panagbenga sa Pamilya Baguio. Kite flying competition, as well as the Panagbenga Cultural show, will also be held during the Handog ng Panagbenga sa Pamilya Baguio on February 11, 2018. On the Opening Day on February 1, 2018, the Elementary School Students will have the chance to showcase their street dance skills and creativity as they compete during the Drum and Lyre Competition Elimination Round. The Opening Parade will start at the Panagbenga Park to Session Road then to Harrison Road and Finally, the participants will be performing at the Baguio Athletic Bowl.
The Panagbenga 2018 Grand Parades
The Grand Parades are considered the main events of the Panagbenga Festival. These parades are the Grand Street Dance Parade happening on February 24, 2018, and the Grand Float Parade which will be witnessed on February 25, 2018. The Grand Street Dance parade route will be from the Panagbenga Park going to Session Road then to Harrison Road then performances will be at the Baguio Athletic Bowl. The Panagbenga 2018 Grand Float Parade route will start at the DILG area at Upper Session road then down to Session Road to Harrison Road then ending at the Melvin Jones Football grounds where the floats will be displayed for the enjoyment of the public.
