Mandatory Wearing of Face Mask and Face Shield in Public Places Now Required

The public is now required to wear face shields and face masks at all times when outside of their residences according to Inter-Agency Task Force on the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases  (IATF) Resolution No. 88  to lessen the transmission of coronavirus.

Here’s the full statement on the IATF Resolution No. 88:

“All persons are mandated to wear full-coverage face shields together with face masks, earloop masks, indigenous, reusable, or do-it-yourself masks, or other facial protective equipment which can effectively lessen the transmission of COVID-19, whenever they go out of their residences, pursuant to existing guidelines issued by the national government…”

This was announced today, December 15, 2020 (Tuesday), by Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque through a press briefing.

Last August, the government has required the wearing of face shields not only in public transportation and in the workplace but also in enclosed commercial establishments such as shopping malls.
