Q: Can you tell us something about your humble beginnings?
A: Just like any other business, we started with very little knowledge about the many aspects of entrepreneurship: from marketing, production, to R&D, etc. We even had to pool our meagre savings just to start with the basic purchases. It literally just started with a dream to have a better quality of life and a passion to make excellent baked goods.
Q: How long have you been with the company? What did you do before this?
A: Our Company is a little over three years old. We have different day jobs (Lalaine is a lawyer, Jayson is a real estate agent, and Dennis is a high school teacher) and up to now; we still juggle our jobs with the business. We simply do not have a luxury to quit our main source of bread and butter so we have to squeeze as much time from our full-time jobs to make the business grow. We can say that we took the long, painful route in approaching the business but nonetheless, it was filled with lessons and valuable experiences. It’s still a long way before finally making it big- but we are definitely on the right track.
Q: How does your company provide guarantee to your customers? How does your company value them?
A: It’s basic knowledge that customers are the lifeblood of any business. But more than pleasing them, we prioritize establishing a good and lasting relationship with them. Our rule of thumb as a company is to treat our clients like how we want to be treated. Also, we observe two major guiding principles in our company: 1) deliver the best product and service possible, and 2) treat our customers more than just people who merely buy—we try to get them more, know their specific needs, wants, interests and from there we find ways to cater them.
Q: What sets your company apart from the others?
A: We do not have any secret recipes, techniques or whatnot that makes us a cut above the rest nor we do claim to be the best in the industry. But if there is one thing that we can be proud of, it’s that we have a clear client demographic, a clear vision, and a relentless pursuit to continuously innovate. Well, you can also say that our products are a reflection of how we care for our clients- we put so much detail, effort, and creativity in every cupcake, cake or any other product that we deliver. And of course, we can boast that our products are super masarap!
Q: What would you like the people to remember your company for?
A: We would like to be remembered as a company who makes a difference in the lives of people JUST BECAUSE (pun intended) we genuinely care, want them to be happy, and feel special.
Q: Can you share to us one of your most unforgettable experiences in this field?
A: It would probably be when we finally decided to push for a full-fledged café! The adrenaline was just so intense we were not able to sleep for many nights just thinking of the many possibilities. We knew from the moment we decided to go for it that this was the moment we were all waiting for.
Q: What was the one thing you wished you knew when you started this passion?
A: That starting a business even at the wrong foot is better than not starting at all. To paraphrase, the first right thing to do when doing a business is to actually start doing it. You can always learn the ropes along the way
Q: Anything more you want to share?
A: Passion and business may not always mix, but when they do, there’s no excuse not to go for it! Business may not be for everyone but it is always a good learning experience. And we believe that the heart of any good business is the genuine intention to provide more value to every individual, and to the world as a whole.
