Not Everyone can go out during MGCQ According to the IATF

As certain areas in the Philippines transition to Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) with more relaxed guidelines, the National Inter-Agency Task Force has made some revisions on its implementation.

These revisions were approved on Wednesday, June 3, 2020, under IATF RESOLUTION NO.43 Series of 2020.

Revision on the MGCQ Guidelines

Previously, Under Section 5, Paragraph No. 2 of the Omnibus Guidelines on the Implementation of Community Quarantine in the Philippines, it was stated that “All persons shall now be allowed outside their residence” in areas under MGCQ.

However, under Resolution No. 43, a new provision states that some individuals will still be required to stay at home at all times under MGCQ.

Who are Still Not Allowed to Leave their Homes During MGCQ

Based on this resolution, the following are the persons still required to remain in their residences at all times:

  • Any person below twenty-one (21) years old
  • Those who are sixty (60) years old and above
  • Those with immunodeficiency, comorbidity, or other health risks
  • Pregnant Women

Furthermore, since more businesses are allowed to operate and more people are allowed to work, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a virtual press briefing that persons 21 years old and below and seniors 60 years old and above will not be allowed to leave their houses subject to the exceptions for necessities and for work.

Baguio City under MGCQ

Baguio City is one of the areas in the country that has been classified under MGCQ since June 1, 2020. However, this is not a reason for us to be complacent.

As more businesses and people are now mobile, may we continue to strictly abide by the guidelines and protocols being implemented by the national and the city government during the MGCQ.

Stay Safe Everyone!
