Bontoc Issues Temporary Travel Ban to and from Sagada and Tadian




Bontoc Mayor Franklin Odsey has issued an advisory on the temporary travel ban to and from the Municipalities of Sagada and Tadian, Mountain Province starting today, August 10, 2020, until August 14, 2020.

According to the travel advisory, the travel ban was issued to facilitate contact tracing of primary and secondary contacts of their respective COVID-19 index cases.

Here are the following travel advisories issued by Mayor Odsey:

  • The Municipality of Bontoc will not be issuing permits going to Sagada and Tadian from August 10-14, 2020.
  • Residents or any individual coming from the aforestated municipalities with Bontoc as the ultimate destination shall not be allowed entry for the same period.
  • Traders coming from Bontoc and intending deliveries of essentials to said municipalities shall be issued travel permits only up to the boundaries (Bontoc-Sagada boundary for Sagada, and Bauko-Tadian for Tadian) of the said municipalities. Furthermore, it is stated in the advisory that the Municipality of Bontoc will respect any or all issuances of the Municipality of Bauko concerning this matter.
  • Most individuals securing permits in Bontoc as Tadian as their ultimate destination are students processing their enrollment form. According to the advisory, the municipality of Bontoc is enjoining the MPSPC or the other educational institutions located in Tadian to extend their enrollment period or to give consideration for late enrollees.
  • The temporary travel ban to said municipalities applies to all including students.
  • All APORS coming to or going out to Bontoc are enjoined to register at the Border Patrol System of the municipality or the “Umayam”.
