Ben&Ben’s “Nakikinig Ka Ba Sa Akin” is a song deviates from the common concepts such as love which we already get to encounter in most songs these days.
Their new single rather revolves around a realistic depiction of a family with each member learning speak their minds and eventually how to listen to each other. Thus, the song is described by the band as “Isang alay sa ating mga kapamilya. Para sa bigat ng mga pangyayari ngayon.”
With everything that has been going on since the year started, including the emergence of COVID-19 pandemic and many other concerns that followed, people already began to have countless of contrasting opinions. Some of which even cause harm or negative effect on others.
This song reflects the current situation of the society we live in. Each side has their own say about a certain issue or a certain problem, but who’re all ears?
Your family? Your friends? The government perhaps? If nobody’s listening, apparently, there will be no understanding and the song already says it all.

Ben&Ben’s “Nakikinig Ka Ba Sa Akin” Lyrics
Mahalaga’y bawat isa’y mapakinggan
Hindi kita gustong awayin
Pareho ang ating hangarin
Ang kadiliman ay basagin
Naririnig kita
Hindi kita gustong awayin
Pareho ang ating hangarin
Ang kadiliman ay basagin
Ang bukas ay ating yakapin
Pareho ang ating hangarin
Ang kadiliman ay basagin
Nakikinig ka ba? (Sa dulo ng ‘yong galit)
Nakikinig ka ba? (Uunawain kita)
Nakikinig ka ba? (Para ‘di tayo maging…)
Sasalubungin kita sa dulo ng ‘yong galit
