[UPDATED] Baguio City Records 3 New COVID-19 Cases

After reporting a recovery from COVID-19 yesterday, Baguio City has confirmed, through the Public Information Office – City of Baguio (PIO-Baguio), that there are three (3) additional COVID-19 cases is recorded in the city today, June 16, 2020.
The three COVID-19 patients make the total number of active cases in the city 9 as of today.

Three Additional COVID-19 Cases in Baguio City

Here are the details regarding the new COVID-19 cases in the city as per Mayor Benjamin Magalong.

  1. 10-year old girl from San Vicente Barangay who had exposure to a positive case
  2. 30-year old female hospital worker from Loakan Road exposed to a positive case
  3. 60 -year old male from Upper Irisan who is presently confined in a hospital


Furthermore, as the number of COVID-19 cases surges in Baguio City and nearby provinces, Mayor Magalong is advising residents to be vigilant and to strictly observe health and safety protocols.

COVID-19 Cases in Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR)

As of DOH-CAR’s COVID-19 Regional Update at 12:00 NN today, June 16, 2020, there are already a total of 101 confirmed cases in the Cordilleras, 52 of which are active, 48 are recoveries and 1 death.

In addition, 6 new cases have been reported in CAR, including the three patients here in Baguio City.

NOTE: One case is reflected in CAR (Baguio) but the patient is admitted in NCR since our reporting is based on the place of residence.

UPDATE AS OF 5:00 PM OF JUNE 16, 2020

According to Baguio’s COVID-19 Monitoring at 5:00 PM today, instead of three new cases, only two are recorded in the city.

This is to correct the earlier report published by PIO-Baguio today because upon verification by the contact tracing team,  it was revealed that the 60-year old male earlier reported as a resident of Upper Irisan is actually from Tuba, Benguet. Thus, reducing the number of new cases in Baguio City to two (2).
