Baguio City and Benguet under “new” Quarantine Classification until July 31, 2020


In an address to the nation by President Duterte held tonight, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque announced the updated community quarantine classifications in cities and provinces across the country during his meeting on the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) situation and the government’s efforts in mitigating the effects of the health crisis.

New Quarantine Classification of Baguio City and Benguet

Baguio City and Benguet will be placed under Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) Medium-Risk from July 16, 2020 to July 31, 2020.

In the new classification, the Modified Community Quarantine was subdivided into two categories: medium-risk and low-risk. How different the guidelines between the two MGCQ categories is still yet to be announced.
