After 13 Days Baguio Has Recorded a New COVID-19 Case
After 13 days the City Government of Baguio has recorded its first case of COVID-19 patient. The patient is a 46-year old female. She is a barangay-paid street sweeper in barangay Scout Barrio. She is currently residing at barangay Dagsian.
The patient started to manifest symptoms last April 3 and she had her check-up on April 7. She was subjected to the rapid testing on April 8 to which she tested positive. The throat swab was done April 9, 2020 and the results came out today. Where it was found that she is positive for COVID-19.
Contact tracing is currently being done to find out the people the patient had probably got in contact with.
As of today, a total of 154 people were subjected to the rapid test, five of whom tested positive, however, four of them yielded a negative result after the confirmatory PCR test.
The City Government also launched a real-time COVID-Case Monitoring website and they have provided a new classification system and these are as follows:
- CONFIRMED CASE — COVID-19 positive patients
- PROBABLE CASE — PUIs with inconclusive, inadequate or no available testing
- SUSPECTED — PUIs with mild, severe and critical symptoms but not tested and for testing
- POSSIBLE CASE — those with exposure or contact to PUIs but not experiencing COVID symptoms
- NON-COVID CASE — Individuals not considered a Person Under Investigation (PUI) nor Person Under Monitoring (PUM)
The website also provided for a number of cases in each of the barangays based on the classification. This way it would provide people the real-time information about the COVID-19 Cases in their respective barangays.
