Which Province in Cordillera has the Most Number of Single People?

From the 2015 Census of Population, Philippine Statistics Authority recorded that there are a total of 284,063 people in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) who are single aged 25 years old and above. What makes it more interesting is that the majority of these unmarried individuals are men. 

The Census of Population is conducted every five years and the latest data provided by the Philippine Statistics Authority is the 2015 Census of Population.

For those who haven’t got the chance to explore region CAR, there are six provinces of Cordillera which are Abra, Apayao, Benguet, Kalinga, Ifugao and Mt. Province. Also, part of the Cordillera Region is Baguio City, the regional center of the CAR region, which is famous for its other names such as Summer Capital of the Philippines and City of Pines.

Provinces in Cordillera With Highest Number of Single Individuals

Among the six provinces of the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) including Baguio City, the place leading with the most number of single people is from Benguet, with a total number of 83,786. There are more men who are single in Benguet with a total number of 51,350 while women have a total of 32,436; a difference of 18,914. Baguio City came in next with 62,662- 31,906 are men and 30,756 are women. There is also a big population of single people in the Province of Abra and it banked the third spot with a total population of 33,856. 

Top 5 Municipalities in Benguet With the Highest Number of Unmarried Persons

Since Benguet got the biggest contribution of unmarried individuals for the Region CAR, let’s dig deeper and check which of the municipalities has contributed the most number of single people. The municipalities under Benguet are Atok, Bakun, Bokod, Buguias, Itogon, Kabayan, Kapangan, Kibungan, La Trinidad, Mankayan, Sablan, Tuba, and Tublay. 

Among these 13 municipalities of Benguet, La Trinidad landed on the first spot for having the biggest number of unmarried individuals. There are  26,076 single individuals in La Trinidad while Itogon has 11,204 single population making them dominate the second highest. On top 3 is the municipality of Tuba for having 8,055 residents who are single.  Buguias with 7,418 unmarried population land fourth and lastly Mankayan with a total of 5, 264 got fifth place.

Age of Most Number of Single Individuals in Benguet

From the 2015 Census of Population from PSA, the age bracket of 20-24 years old was on the top list of having the highest population of single people in Benguet with a total of 36,792. What came second was people aged between 25-29 years with a 20,257 population and, 9,732 individuals who are 30-34 years old is the third highest age bracket.
