UP Baguio to Hold Graduation 2020 Online




The University of the Philippines Baguio, through the 2020 Graduation Committee, announces and invites the public to Pagtatapos 2020, the UP Baguio graduation program which will be held via Facebook Live, with the premiere at 11:00 a.m. on 24 July 2020

A total of 153 candidates for graduation await the formal conferment of their respective degrees by the President of the University of the Philippines System. They consist of UP Baguio’s graduating batch of 2020 from the crop of students who successfully completed all their academic requirements in Midyear Term 2018-2019, in the First Semester 2019-2020 and in the Second Semester 2019-2020. Their respective colleges, the College of Arts and Communication, the College of Science, and the College of Social Sciences, earlier endorsed their graduation to the University Council of UP Baguio which subsequently approved and endorsed for the final approval of the UP President. 




Included in the graduation ceremonies are the college dean’s presentations of the candidates to the UP Baguio chancellor and the chancellor’s subsequent presentation to the UP President, finally making official the graduation and conferment of degrees. These include the different Bachelor of Arts degrees in Communication, Language and Literature, and Social Sciences, as well as the different Bachelor of Science degrees in Biology, Computer Science, Management Economics, Mathematics, and Physics. Included also are the degrees in Visual Arts, Certificate in Fine Arts and Bachelor of Fine Arts. Also among the graduating batch are those who will be conferred the graduate degrees of Master of Arts in Language and Literature, Master of Arts in Social and Development Studies, Master of Science in Mathematics, Master of Science in Conservation and Restoration Ecology, and Master of Management. 

One of the much-awaited parts of UP Baguio’s graduation tradition, the Ritwal ng Pagtatanglaw will also be part of the program to be conducted online for the first time. The virtual graduation program will be streamed on the University of the Philippines Baguio Official Facebook Page (facebook.com/OfficialUPB/). Updates will also be posted on the UP Baguio website currently accessible at web.upb.edu.ph.
