Typhoon “Ulysses” Continues to Intensify, Several Areas in Luzon on TCWS No. 3



Typhoon “Ulysses” continues to intensify as it threatens the Quezon-Aurora area. This update was provided by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) through their latest Severe Weather Bulletin issued at 5:00 PM today (Wednesday),  November 11, 2020.

The center of the eye of the typhoon was located at 60 km East Northeast of Daet, Camarines Norte at 4:00 PM today. According to PAGASA, the center of “Ulysses” is forecast to make landfall or close approach in the vicinity of Calaguas Islands within 3 hours, then over Polillo Islands and mainland Quezon between tonight and tomorrow early morning.

Note that this update is valid only until the next bulletin which is to be issued by PAGASA at 8:00 PM today.

What To Do During TCWS #3

  • If the house is not strong enough to withstand the battering of strong winds:
    • Go to the designated evacuation center
    • Or seek shelter in stronger houses
  • Stay in safe houses until after the disturbances have left the area
  • Evacuate from low-lying area and riverbanks
  • Stay away from coastal areas for possible flooding and storm surge
  • All travel and outdoor activities should be canceled
  • Watch out for the passage of the “Eye Wall and the “Eye” of the typhoon
