Typhoon Kristine Enters PAR




According to the 11:00 AM broadcast today of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), typhoon “Haishen” has entered the Philippine Areas of Responsibility (PAR) at 9:00 AM.

Furthermore, the typhoon was named “Kristine” , the 11th tropical cyclone to enter the country this year and is unlikely to directly affect the weather condition in the country throughout the forecast period.

At the moment, the typhoon is undergoing rapid intensification. Around  205-215 km/h on Sunday, it is forecast to reach peak intensity.

Location of Eye

Based on the PAGASA bulletin, the eye of Typhoon Kristine was located based on all available data at 1,340 km East of Extreme Northern Luzon (21.8°N, 134.8°E) as of 10:00 AM.

Movement of Typhoon Kristine

Typhoon Kristine is forecast to move west-northwestward and northwestward while inside the PAR.

According to the PAGASA forecast, the typhoon will remain far from the Philippine landmass and it may exit the PAR between the evening of September 5 and early morning of September 6.

In addition, Kristine will head towards southern Japan and the Korean Peninsula after leaving PAR.

The next advisory of PAGASA will be issued at 11:00 PM today.
