Puroks in Two Barangays in Baguio City under Lockdown for Contact Tracing


Relative to the two most recent cases recorded in the city, Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong, through Memorandum No. 106, series of 2020, ordered to place Puroks 4 and 5 of Barangay Bakakeng Norte and Puroks  2 and 4 of Barangay Loakan Liwanag under lockdown starting today, July 10, 2020.

According to the same memorandum, there is a need to place the said areas under lockdown in order to conduct contact tracing and to ensure the security of those who residents who may have been in contact with the two new COVID-19 cases.

Thus, Puroks 4 and 5 of Barangay Bakakeng Norte and Puroks  2 and 4 of Barangay Loakan Liwanag will be on lockdown effective today, July, 10, 2020 until further notice.

Aside from these two barangays, Upper Quezon Hill has also been isolated due to a female worker who tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday.

What does this mean for the residents of the three barangays under lockdown

  1. The use of Home Quarantine Pass/Mall & Market Schedule is hereby suspended.
  2. To access basic necessities, residents may proceed to their satellite market or available rolling stores or coordinate with their Barangay Officials.
  3. Exit and entry to the barangays are restricted to APORs and those with medical emergencies.

COVID-19 Cases in Baguio City

With two additional cases as of today, Baguio City now has a total of 4 active cases.

Furthermore, as of today, the city has recorded a total number of 50 confirmed COVID-19 cases with 4 active, 44 recoveries, and 2 deaths.
