There’s a Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill on Nov. 27

The Office of Civil Defense on Tuesday, November 24, 2020, announced that there will be a Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill to be held at 9:00 AM, tomorrow (Friday), November 27, 2020.

The Civil Defense encourages everyone to watch the Fourth Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill Online Ceremonial Pressing of the Button which is to be live-streamed on Facebook and YouTube, and join the practice of Duck, Cover, and Hold.

“Isasagawa ito sa darating na Biyernes, Nobyembre 27, 9:00 AM. Inaanyayahan ang lahat na panoorin ang live stream ng ceremonial pressing of the button sa Civil Defense-CBTS at sa pagtunog ng sirena, sabay-sabay na mag-Duck, Cover, and Hold sa ating mga tahanan at opisina dahil bida and handa.”

According to the Office of Civil Defense, they will also show a Tsunami scenario in view of the World Tsunami Awareness Day. “Mapapanood din ang isang Tsunami scenario bilang bahagi ng pakikiisa sa nagdaang World Tsunami Awareness Day noong Nobyembre 5,” stated the Civil Defence.

What to do before, during and after an earthquake

We have to learn and keep in mind what to do before, during and after an earthquake to avoid or at least reduce damages that it can cause.
