The What, When and Where of the 3rd Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill
Baguio City Mayor and City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC) Chairperson Benjamin Magalong have issued the Memorandum No. 280, Series of 2020 today (Monday), September 7, 2020, informing all Barangay DRRMC Committees, City Departments, and the CDRRM Member Agencies about the conduct of the third (3rd) quarterly Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) and other NSED-related activities.
The Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED)
The third Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill is to be conducted only on September 10, 2020 (Thursday) at exactly 2:00 PM (Philippine Standard Time) to practice the “duck, cover, and hold” procedure. It shall be conducted within the premise of respective households, schools, offices, and institutions.
Other NSED-Related Events
Other than the NSED, the Office of Civil Defense Cordillera is also hosting other NSED-related events such as the Online Quiz Bee, the Earthquake Preparedness Webinar, and the Ceremonial pressing of the Button. All concerned stakeholders and the general public are also enjoined to participate in said NSED-related events.

A hashtag has also been prepared for the use of the Barangay DRRMs and CDRRMC Member Agencies when posting in social media about the NSED-related activities. It’s the #BidaAngHanda.
Furthermore, still based on the said memorandum, all participating agencies are required to submit Post-Activity Report not later than September 18, 2020 at [email protected].
