Tail-end of a Frontal System and Northeast Monsoon to Bring Rains Over Northern Luzon



In the weather update of  Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) at 4:00 AM today, February 24, 2021, the Tail-end of a Frontal System (Shear Line) and Northeast Monsoon will bring rains over Luzon.

Furthermore, the Tail-end of a Frontal System (Shear Line) is affecting the eastern section of Northern Luzon while the Northeast Monsoon is affecting the rest of Northern Luzon.

The tail – end of a frontal system (Shear Line) will bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms and possible flash floods or landslides may occur during moderate with at times heavy rains in the following areas:

  • Cagayan
  • Isabela
  • Quirino
  • Aurora

These areas will have cloudy skies with light rains caused by the northeast monsoon:

  • Batanes
  • Babuyan Islands

The following areas will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to northeast monsoon:

  • Cordillera Administrative Region
  • Ilocos Region

And, due to easterlies/localized thunderstorms, these places will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers:

  • Metro Manila
  • Rest of the country
