Stranded Bauko Students Advised Not to Go Home
Bauko, Mt. Province Secretary to the Mayor Jake Oyang-o published yesterday, April 27, 2020, a Facebook post which reiterates their earlier Municipality of Bauko COVID-19 advisory which advises students who are stranded in COVID-positive places not to go back to their homes in Bauko until further notice.
“In response to numerous querries whether LGU Bauko will allow entry of students stranded in COVID-positive places for them to go back home here in Bauko, WE MAINTAIN AND REITERATE OUR EARLIER ADVISORY FOR THEM TO STAY WHERE THEY ARE. This is aligned with National IATF recommendations.” – Written on Secretary Jake Oyang-o’s Facebook post
On a Facebook post by the Bauko Mt Province Facebook account last March 29, 2020, Bauko Mayor Abraham B. Akilit has issued an executive order banning the entry of non-essential travellers in all Bauko borders. This includes Bauko residents who are stranded in other municipalities, cities or provinces until the lifting of the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ).
Municipal and city LGUs are expected not to issue travel passes to students who are within places which are under the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) since these students are not considered as Authorized Persons Outside Residence. Travelling without travel passes is considered a violation. However, still based from the Facebook post of the Secretary to the Mayor, in events of which students will be given passes, they will strictly undergo 14-day quarantine at the municipal and regional evacuation centers of Bauko located at Sadsadan and Poblacion barangays.
Relief Goods Distribution
As stated on the said post, the LGU Bauko will distribute relief goods during the period of the community quarantine. The municipality’s Sangguniang Kabataan Chairpersons in all barangays were given the task to contact the students for faster coordination. In case they cannot contact some of the students, contact numbers of the Sangguniang Kabataan Chairpersons are provided.
