Religious Services and Gathering in Baguio City Suspended on the Following Dates

Due to the recent surge of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the City of Baguio, stricter implementation of sanitation and crowd management protocols have become necessary.

Thus, as a response to the increasing COVID-19 cases, Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong has signed today, July 28, 2020, the advisory called Religious Services During Sunday Lockdown while under MGCQ, reimposing the previous Sunday lockdown policy for two (2) Sundays.

In the said advisory, it is stated that religious services and gatherings within the City of Baguio shall be suspended on August 2 and 9, 2020.

However, religious services may still be held through remote means, or on days other than Sunday. This is so long as standard health and safety protocols are strictly observed.

In addition, according to Mayor Magalong, it would likewise be appreciated if the religious sector could participate in the disinfection practices on Sundays by decontaminating their areas after they complete their remote services.

Baguio City Public Market

Other than the lockdown of religious services and gatherings, the Baguio City Public Market shall also be closed for disinfection and decontamination.

To minimize large crowds and to limit movement, only the following persons will be allowed to go out for personal errands:

  • Frontliners
  • Senior Citizens
  • Persons with Disabilities
