New COVID-19 Cases: Apayao Records 2, Ifugao Records 3

Five new COVID-19 cases have been recorded today, July 20, 2020, in Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).

Details About the COVID-19 Cases in Ifugao

• 15-year-old Male from Ifugao; Mild
• 13-year-old Male from Ifugao; Asymptomatic
• Female from Ifugao; Asymptomatic

Additional Information

The 13-year-old and a 15-year-old COVID-19 case from Ifugao are two of the primary contacts of Ceasar Vicente, a resident of Poblacion North who has been confirmed of COVID-19 on July 18, 2020.

Details About the COVID-19 Cases in Apayao

• 36-year-old Male health worker from Apayao; Stable and now isolated

The Conner District Hospital confirms that one of its health workers tested positive of the COVID -19 based on the RT PCR result released by Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) today, July 20, 2020.

The hospital assured that it is taking all the necessary precautionary and infection control measures to protect the patients, hospital staff, and the community despite the new case.

In another update, the Provincial Government also shared details on the second confirmed case of Apayao. However, they have not disclosed the age and gender of the patient

The said case had traveled to Manila on July 4, 2020, with two (2) companions on board a government vehicle to haul logistics. Upon their return from Manila, all three were directly quarantined at the Conner District Hospital Quarantine Facility and had their swab samples taken last July 18, 2020. The swab tests on his companions however turned in negative results.

Tracing of individuals who had contacts and interactions with the confirmed case is ongoing. To prevent further transmission, the Provincial Government encourages everyone who has contact and interaction with the confirmed case within the last two weeks are encouraged to come forward and contact their respective rural health units.

Places under temporary lockdown

• All Municipality of Conner borders and strict monitoring of passages in and out of the municipality is mandated
• The barangay from where the new confirmed cases in accordance with Provincial COVID-19 Task Force Resolution No. 1
  

Total COVID-19 Cases in CAR

As of 12:00 noon today, the total COVID-19 case within the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) is already at one hundred and sixty-seven (167). Fifty (50) of which are admitted to the hospital facility, while one hundred and fifteen (115) have already recovered from the disease.
