Mt. Ulap Ecotourism Activities suspended until further notice

Ampucao, Itogon Barangay Captain Eddie Amuasen issued an advisory suspending all ecotourism activities at Mt. Ulap until further notice starting last Saturday, February 22, 2020.

The indefinite suspension, according to the advisory, has been decided upon by the barangay’s LGU in response to the World Health Organization’s (WHO) declaration of the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) outbreak as a global health emergency and the advice of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Mt. Ulap, like Mt. Pulag, is one of the most frequented tourist destinations in Benguet due to its rock formations and the scenic views that it offers.

The barangay unit is asking for understanding and cooperation in order to protect the public and minimize risks associated with COVID-19.
