Midnight Sun, a New Twilight Book, Coming Soon!

Calling all Twilight fans out there! The news is true, the companion novel of the bestseller Twilight Saga, the Midnight Sun, is only just a few months away from its official release.

“I’m happy to announce that Midnight Sun is finally (very close to) ready! And will be in bookstores on August 4th,” Stephenie Meyer, the author of the novel itself, announced on her own website.

Are you missing the main characters of this widely-known and well-loved vampire story? Well, it seems like you’ll get to hear more of Bella Swan and Edward Cullen as the pages of this new novel gets unveiled by August.

For the meantime, while waiting for that special day, you might want to read this excerpt from the letter of Stephenie Meyer for her readers:

“Working on a book for more than thirteen years is a strange experience. I’m not the same person I was then. My children have all grown up. My back got weird. The world is a different place. I can only imagine all the things that have changed for you. But completing Midnight Sun has brought back to me those early days of Twilight when I first met many of you. We had a lot of fun, didn’t we? Throwing proms and hanging out in hotel rooms and reading on the beach (while getting the most epic sunburns of our lives). We made hilarious t-shirts and fabulous websites. We found kindred spirits that are still in our lives now. I hope going back to the beginning of Bella’s and Edward’s story reminds you of all that fun, too.” 

Midnight Sun: from Edward Cullen’s Perspective?

As stated on the Midnight Sun’s book description on the Little, Brown Books for Young Readers website, the upcoming novel is the vampire’s side of the story.

“At last, readers can experience Edward’s version in the long-awaited companion novel, Midnight Sun.”

Does this mean that Twilight fans will get to read the new novel from the perspective of the sparkly vampire,  Edward Cullen? Well, another hint from the Midnight Sun’s book description on the Little, Brown Books for Young Readers website, makes it seem like it.

“As we learn more fascinating details about Edward’s past and the complexity of his inner thoughts, we understand why this is the defining struggle of his life.”
