Magnitude 4.1 Earthquake hits Sabangan, Mountain Province this Morning




The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) has reported on their earthquake bulletin that as of 6:58 AM today, August 5, 2020, Sabangan, Mountain Province has been hit by a 4.1 magnitude earthquake.

According to PHIVOLCS, the earthquake was located at the 16.92°N, 120.93°E – 009 km S 10° E of the said area. The origin of the earthquake is tectonic with a depth of focus of sixteen kilometers (16 Km).

Fortunately, based on PHIVOLCS’ report, they are expecting no damage nor aftershocks from the event.
