Low Pressure Area Has Intensified to Tropical Depression “Butchoy”

According to PAGASA, as of 2:00 PM today, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) under their monitoring, estimated East of Infanta, Quezon has already intensified into a Tropical Depression (TD) named Butchoy.

Quezon now on Yellow Warning

Based on PAGASA’s advisory issued at 4: 20 PM today, Quezon is now under Yellow Warning with the possibility of flooding in low-lying areas and near river channels.

In addition, light to moderate with occasional heavy rains are expected within the next 2-3 hours over the following areas:

Nueva Ecija
Pampanga
Bulacan

While light to moderate with occasional heavy rains will affect the following areas and may persist within 2-3 hours and affect nearby areas.

Zambales
Bataan
Cavite
Laguna
Batangas
Rizal Tarlac

Rainfall Advisory (Benguet Radar Station)

Also at 4:00 PM today, PAGASA’s Rainfall Advisory from the Benguet Radar Station reported that moderate to heavy rains are now prevailing over the following portions of Pangasinan:

SanFabian
Sison
SanJacinto
Mangaldan
Dagupan
Infanta
Natividad
SanQuintin
Umingan

These rains may persist 1 to 2 hours and may also affect nearby areas.

Rainfall Advisory (Baler Radar Station)

On the other hand, the Baler Radar Station reported at 4:00 PM that light to moderate rains are prevailing over Aurora, portions of Casiguran, Maria Aurora, and Baler, which may also persist within 2-3 hours.

PAGASA is advising everyone to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards. Residents along mountain slopes are also warned of possible landslides, mudslides, rock slides, and flash floods.
