Louisian Beauty to represent Baguio City in Miss Universe Philippines 2020

An alumna of Saint Louis University is among the official candidates for the first-ever Miss Universe Philippines (MUPh) 2020.

Bea Theresa Maynigo, a graduate of SLU, will be Baguio City’s representative for the prestigious pageant that will identify who will represent the Philippines in the 2020 Miss Universe.

 

Despite being born and raised in Calasiao, Pangasinan, Maynigo chose to represent Baguio City because according to her, it is where everything has started.

Why Baguio?

It is the place where all of these started. It was the place where I discovered that I could actually do beauty pageants and become an influential Beauty Queen that I am now because it gave me that opportunity.

Another Cordilleran Stunner to join Miss Universe Philippines 2020

Another Cordilleran Pride who will be vying for the crown is Noreen Victoria Mangawit of Pinukpuk, Kalinga.

 

Miss Universe Philippines 2020

After more than fifty years, Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. has let go of the Philippine franchise of Miss Universe. Hence, the MUPh organization, headed by national director Shamcey Supsup-Lee, will now be in charge of the said pageant.

According to MUPh’s national director, the journey of pageant contestants will focus on three important pillars which are beautiful transformation, beyond the coastlines, and inspiring women with action.

The first edition of Miss Universe Philippines (MUPh) will be held on May 3, 2020 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Miss Universe Philippines 2020 UPDATE (October 23, 2020)

On the official Facebook page of Miss Universe Philippines, the organization has announced today, October 14, 2020 (Wednesday), that the filming of the Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Preliminaries and Grand Finals will be held in Baguio City and it’s going to be available for streaming worldwide.

Also, the Miss Universe Philippines has revealed the look of the crown for this year’s pageant and it is a crown that represents the achievement of one’s mind over body as a Filipina.
