Lockdown Placed on Engineer’s Hill, Lockdown over New Lucban Lifted




On Wednesday, August 5, 2020, the Office of the City Mayor of the City Government of Baguio has issued a lockdown order over Brgy. Engineer’s Hill and lockdown over Brgy. New Lucban has been lifted.

Lockdown Placed over Engineer’s Hill

Mayor Benjamin Magalong ordered lockdown order over Brgy. Engineer’s Hill, through the Memorandum No. 159, Series of 2020.

This is since the local COVID-19 Task force has been informed that a recent confirmed COVID-19 case is a resident of the said barangay.

The lockdown took effect on August 5, 2020, and is to remain until further notice in order to facilitate complete and efficient contact tracing. The action is also to ensure the safety and security of those who may have come to contact with the said COVID-19 case.

Lockdown over New Lucban Lifted

On the other hand, the lockdown order over Brgy. New Lucban has been lifted through the Memorandum No. 158, Series of 2020.

According to the memorandum, the Contact Tracing Team has recommended that lockdown is no longer necessary at this time based on the geospatial analysis of the risk of transmission in the area. Thus, the lockdown has been lifted.
