La Trinidad under Extreme Enhanced Community Quarantine for 2 Days 

Mayor Romeo Salda ordered placing La Trinidad, Benguet under Extreme Enhanced Community Quarantine (EECQ) starting today, March 30, 2020 until tomorrow after two individuals from the municipality tested positive with COVID-19. 

The two persons who tested positive for the disease have been around La Trinidad, visiting several establishments before the results of their COVID-19 test came out based on the initial contact tracing conducted by the Municipal Health Service Office (MHSO).

Guidelines for La Trinidad Extreme Enhanced Community Quarantine

Establishments visited by the close contacts of the COVID-19 patients will be closed.

All the essential establishments visited by the close contacts of the COVID-19 patients will be closed for disinfection and refilling of stocks.

Operations of Sari-Sari Stores & Water Refilling Stations

Sari-sari stores and water refilling stations will remain open from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM only during the ECCQ. 

Temporary Closure of La Trinidad Trading Post (LTVP)

Reasons why LTVP will be temporarily closed:

  • Agusta Balanoy, farmer and traders representative, manifested their intention not to operate on March 30-31,2020 after learning about the COVID-19 situation.
  • Disinfection of LTVP area
  • The close contacts of the two COVID-19 patients may have been to LTVP.
  • Director Mario Iringan of the DILG recommended halting operations at LTVP during the two-day ECCQ as long as BAPTC remains open so that delivery of food will not be affected.

Checkpoints

All checkpoints will be closed except for the national highway’s stretch of road from Shilan to Km. 3.

Exemption from EECQ

Officials who will attend the Provincial Inter-Agency Task Force meeting are exempted from the ECCQ.

Travel within La Trinidad

Vehicles with Food Lane Passes issued by DA

All vehicles carrying vegetables with food lane passes issued by the Department of Agriculture (DA) may traverse the national road. 

Travel Passes

During the 2-day ECCQ, travel passes will not be issued.

Who are allowed to travel?

The following are allowed to travel via the national road:

  • Health Workers
  • BPO workers
  • Water Delivery Service Providers
  • Frontliners
  • Emergency purposes

Suspension of work at administrative offices

Administrative work at the municipality and barangays will be suspended during the ECCQ except for the skeletal workforce.

Garbage Collection

There will be no collection of garbage on March 30-31,2020.
