Island in Bohol Declared Important Cultural Property




On October 20, 2020, through a Facebook post, the National Museum Bohol has announced that the Archaeological Sites and Petrographs of Lamanok in Anda, Bohol was officially declared as an Important Cultural Property (ICP) by the National Museum of the Philippines.

“The National Museum of the Philippines officially declares the Archaeological Sites and Petrographs of Lamanok in Anda, Bohol as an Important Cultural Property.”

Furthermore, Lamanok was the first declared archeological site in Bohol.

Important Cultural Property

It was defined by Article II Section 3 of Republic Act No. 10066 or the act known as “National Cultural Heritage Act of 2009” that Important Cultural Property refers to a cultural property having exceptional cultural, artistic, and historical significance to the Philippines.

“Important cultural property” shall refer to a cultural property having exceptional cultural, artistic and historical significance to the Philippines, as shall be determined by the National Museum and/or National Historical Institute.”
