Grand Sierra Pines Summer Activities

Grand Sierra Pines is hosting a Summer Food and Arts Festival for four Saturdays starting from April 13 and up to May 4, 2019. They have lined up various summer activities that are set to be enjoyed by families and other types of groups traveling together.

Grand Sierra Pines has prepared aSummer Kiddie Chef and Arts Workshop for children who have the potential and want to be future artists and chefs. This was facilitated by a Chef from Grand Sierra Pines and Pasakalye Group of Artists. For the four Saturdays, this activity will be held at the Sunken Garden Veranda from 2 PM until 4 PM.

After the workshop, expect different music and dance performance, a film showing and an acoustic band to play from 6 PM to 10 PM.

During the first Saturday of the event, April 13, 2019, they had a Pizza-Making and Plein Air Painting for Kids Workshop. Later on a fire dance, ethnic dance (by children), a band performance and Film Showing was done.

For the next leg, April 20, 2019, the children who participated have learned how to bake Chocolate Cupcakes and how to do Basic Drawing and Sketching (still-life). After this, a fire dance, flair tending, acoustic band performance, and the film showing followed.

This coming Saturday, April 27, 2019, the procedures for Red Velvet Cookie Baking and T-shirt Tie Dying will be taught to children. After that, they can watch the fire dance, cultural dance, acoustic band performance, and film showing with their families.

For the event’s last leg on May 4, 2019, a Cake Making and Painting Lessons (freestyle) will be conducted. For their last show, there will be flair tending, an overall cultural performance, and an acoustic band performance.

Other activities for everyone

In partnership with the Pasakalye Group of Artists, there’s an On-the-Spot Portrait Sketching on A4 Oslo Paper which costs Php 500/sketch at hotel lobby for the four Saturdays, from 12 noon to 6 PM. In addition, handicrafts made by the artists will be collectively displayed. This exhibit which they called “Latag” will be seen at the Big Igloo/dome found on the garden grounds from 6 PM to 10 PM.

Food stops

You won’t have to worry about getting hungry during the activities because there are stalls serving a variety of food and drinks. To avail these food items, all you need to do is to buy tickets, which are converted based on the amount of money you’ll be paying and use it for buying the food and drinks you want.
