The First Jollibee in Baguio City Bids its Goodbye

Whether it’s where you have tasted your first ever Chickenjoy meal, or where you and your bestfriend always met for your weekly playdate, or maybe it’s where you had your first date; if you were born or raised (or both) here in Baguio City, you probably have a fond memory to look back to when it comes to Jollibee Session Prime, which is located along Calderon Street corner Session Road.

Unfortunately, the said branch is bidding a heartbreaking goodbye to its patrons of different generations after 29 fruitful years as they officially close their doors on Friday, March 1, 2019.

According to the official posted announcement,

“After 29 years in business, Jollibee Session Prime will be closing its doors permanently effective March 1, 2019. We appreciate every customer who has come through our doors since 1990 and we are grateful to you for welcoming us as part of this community. Thank you for the many years of business and support. We have enjoyed serving you. Maraming maraming salamat po!”

Aside from personal memories and anecdotes regarding the famous meeting place, Jollibee Session Prime is also famous because it was the first ever Jollibee franchise that was established here in the City of Pines in 1990. It has withstood the test of time and bore witness to significant events that shaped the city- one of which being the 1990 killer earthquake.

Although we won’t be able to create memories there anymore, guaranteed that Jollibee Session Prime will hold a special place to the hearts of everyone who has ever dined there. What’s your fondest memory at Jollibee Session Prime? Share it with us in the comments below!

  1. Whenever my family goes to Baguio, this Jollibee branch at Prime Hotel is our traditional tambayan, starting in 1995 with our 5 year-old first child upto the present. We are saddened to learn about the imminent closure of this Jollibee branch.

  2. We will be missing Jollibee, prime…
Many memories…but the fondest and is still vivid until now was when my eldest son,Jan Joseph, only 4yrs old that time, was able to dance with Jollibee mascot on the opening itself. It gave so much joy to my son joining jollibee and people were cheering their show down… the staff were so kind enough to give him freebies and gift certificates for the whole family…
Jollibee is indeed for children and most specailly for the FAMILY…
    Thank you,Joillibee Prime…
You will be forever in my children’s memories and mine as well…
    GOD BLESS AND THANK YOU!!!

  3. during college days, i go here to use their bathroom, there was one instance that i had diarrhea and flush wasn’t working. when i opened bathroom door to find water, i was shocked to see long queue waiting to use bathroom.
i had my fight with my first boyfriend here, i was eating chicken joy while crying, other table staring over me.
thank you tho. everything fades, mono no aware.

  4. So sad. Dito sa branch na to kami kumakain kapag lumalabas kami ng girlfriend ko. Kahit sobrang dami ng ng branches ng jollibee sa session road.

  5. Since Jollibee Session was near the office, my wife and I had our lunch there and we are usually greeted at the doorway by staff who announce aloud, “Regular costumer!” Our eldest daughter, then three, has a picture playing there.

  6. a pioneer crew after the earthquake 1990.. its been great serving as a crew.. 29 years na pala

  7. All of a sudden i’ve seen a recommendation video in my YouTube about jollibee. Then i stumble upon this article i was sad because this branch is where i grew up. We are a regular here until i get older. I was sad for its closing but memories will last forever. Lalo na nung i found out na i was pregnant with my 1st child i was craving for fried chicken although meron nmann malapit n branch sa school ko noon few meters away lang sya.. Pero pupunta at ppunta prin ako dyan sa jollibee prime hotel branch pra lng kumain and my pwesto tlga ako dyan. Hndi ako uuwi ng hindi dumadaan dyan khit abutin p ako ng gabi sa town dyan pa dn ako ppunta. I’m 24 now yes i’m still a fan of jollibee but this tome since i work here in cavite na buti nlng merong nearest branch ng jollibee sa work ko. We used to go sa branch na un every saturdays, every pay day or trip nmin kumain sa labas. What’s more interesting is that our manager used to treat the whole staff who signed to work on a sunday with jollibee or not being bias with the other departments my manager used to treat us and get what we want if ever we spent late night at work.. No issues they will pay for it. Where i’m staying now is that the nearest jollibee is only 10 minutes away.. So many memories but still jollibee prime hotel branch takes the biggest part in my life. Thank you for the 29 years..
