Entire Luzon Placed Under State of Calamity



Under  Proclamation No. 1051 which was issued yesterday, November 18, 2020 (Wednesday), President Rodrigo Roa Duterte declared the entire Luzon under the State of Calamity.

On the proclamation, it was stated that the National Risk Reduction and Management Council has recommended the declaration of a State of Calamity over areas severely affected by Typhoon Quint, Super Typhoon Rolly, and Typhoon Ulysses, particularly in Luzon.

In addition, the declaration of a state of calamity in Luzon will effectively control the prices of basic goods and commodities in affected areas.

Furthermore, according to the proclamation that the state of calamity shall remain in force and effect until lifted by the President.
