DOH Issues the Suggested Retail Price for Non-Medical Grade Face Shields

Department of Health (DOH) Secretary of Health Fransisco Duque III sets the suggested retail price (SRP) for non-medical grade face shield, ranging from twenty-six pesos (Php 26.00) to fifty pesos (Php 50.00), through the Department Memorandum No. 2020-0345 issued on Wednesday, August 12, 2020.

Non-medical Grade Face Shield Specs

Based on the said memorandum, the technical specifications for the non-medical grade face shield for community use are:

“Clear plastic or acetate material provides good visibility, fog resistance, adjustable band to attach firmly around the head, fit snuggly against the forehead, full face coverage (completely cover the sides and length of the face), made of robust material that can be easily cleaned and disinfected, disposable or reusable.”

Baguio Mayor’s Say

Since there are already orders mandating the use of the medical gadgets, including face shields, in offices, and in public transportation, Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong has welcomed the move.

As reported by the Public Information Office – City of Baguio, Mayor Magalong said that it will give teeth to the city’s ongoing campaign against enterprising individuals who unconscionably raised the prices of face shields.
