Disney Casting a Filipina Lola for Upcoming Film



In a casting call on the job portal Project Casting, Disney is searching for a Filipino Lola or grandmother to cast for its upcoming film and “no professional acting experience is required”.

“Katie Doyle Casting, Hawaii is assisting Sarah Finn Casting (Avengers: Endgame, The Mandalorian, Guardians of the Galaxy) in looking for an actress to play a role in an upcoming Walt Disney Studios film. No professional acting experience is required, but the applicant must speak English fluently and be comfortable traveling on a plane to Atlanta. They also should be currently authorized to work in the United States (either a US citizen, a green card holder, or an O-1 visa holder.)”

As stated in the casting call, they are searching for a 50-90 years old applicant and must speak English fluently and be comfortable traveling on a plane to Atlanta.

“They also should be currently authorized to work in the United States (either a US citizen, a green card holder, or an O-1 visa holder),” Project Casting added.

Furthermore, the role will be shooting for a few days in mid-February 2021 in Atlanta, Georgia according to the casting job.

Also, Filipino or of Filipino descent are highly encouraged to apply.

“We highly encourage performers who are Filipino or of Filipino descent to apply. For every role, please submit qualified performers, without regard to disability, race, age, color, national origin, sexual orientation or gender identity, or any other basis prohibited by law, unless otherwise specifically indicated.”

The title and details of the said upcoming Disney film are not yet released.

For all Filipino Lolas who are interested to audition for the role apply HERE. And, the following are needed:

  • Record a short video of the applicant introducing themselves and sharing a story about their family or their favorite activity.
  • Applicants are welcome to share the story in English, Filipino, Tagalog, or any other language spoken in the Philippines, but introduction must be in English.

According to Project Casting, “we will be reviewing videos the first week of January and will email anyone we’d like to invite to audition.”
