DENR CAR Compound Closed on Wednesday for Disinfection

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Cordillera Administrative Region (DENR CAR) has released a notice today, August 25, 2020, informing the public that the whole of the DENR Compound will be closed tomorrow, August 26, 2020 (Wednesday).

Why is the DENR Compound to Close on Wednesday

Thorough disinfection of their office and vicinity is to be conducted. Thus, the DENR-CAR Regional Office, Environmental Management Bureau-CAR, and CENRO Baguio are to be closed to all employees and clients.

The said move is in view of a memorandum issued by Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong today, August 25, 2020, implementing provisional lockdown order over Purok 2 of Barangay Gibraltar.

Although the DENR Compound is not part of the area placed under lockdown and the COVID-19 patient is not a DENR employee, they noted that many of their employees live in Purok 2 of the above-mentioned barangay.

They also added that the DENR Compound happens to be an access point of residents from Purok 2.

When will the DENR’s Operations Resume

According to the DENR CAR, their operations are to resume on Thursday, August 27, 2020.
