BSP: Beware of Brilliant Uncirculated P20 Coins Sold Online

In an advisory released by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), the public is advised that BSP has not issued Brilliant Uncirculated 20-Piso coins.

Furthermore, BSP is reminding the public to beware of online sellers advertising Brilliant Uncirculated 20-Piso coins for sale.

“The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) advises the public that it has not issued Brilliant Uncirculated 20-Piso coins. The BSP reminds the public to beware of online sellers advertising Brilliant Uncirculated 20-Piso coins for sale.”

P20 New Generation Currency

According to the advisory of BSP, beginning in December 2019, the 20-Piso New Generation Currency (NGC) circulation coins were released to the public. And, as of end-August 2020, 2.09 million pieces of 20-Piso NGC coins amounting to PHP41.85 million are in circulation.

In addition, it is stated in the advisory that these 20-Piso NGC coins are legal tender and may be used as payment for goods and services at face value.
