Bamboo Eco Park in Baguio City, Temporarily Closed

Located at the St. Francis Xavier Seminary, the Bamboo Eco Park in Baguio City, a park showcases different types of bamboos, is quickly becoming a popular tourist destination in the City of Pines.

However, due to vandalism, Edgardo Manda, the president of the Philippine Bamboo Foundation, Inc. has announced yesterday (Monday), November 9, 2020 that the Bamboo Ecopark in Baguio City will be temporarily closed.

“TO THE VISITING PUBLIC: WE ARE TEMPORARILY CLOSING THE BAMBOO ECOPARK IN BAGUIO CITY DUE TO VANDALISM. Some visitors do not respect the place and have defaced bamboo culms (or poles) by engraving their names and relieving themselves along the pathway.”

– Edgardo Manda on a Facebook post, November 9, 2020

We at Baguio City Guide condemn the practice of vandalism. Our team has recently visited the Bamboo Eco Park in Baguio City and we saw the beauty of the place. To preserve its beauty, the park should be appreciated and respected by anyone who will visit.
