Baguio Youth Leader Recognized Internationally

Jef Mitzel Bulaon Paran, a Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) kagawad of barangay Trancoville, has been recognized for an exemplary perfomance during the Asia World Model United Nations (AWMUN) II.

During the event, which was held from January 30 to February 2, 2019 at the Prince Palace Hotel and Windsor Suites Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand, Paran received the Most Outstanding Delegate award.

What is AWMUN?

Asia World Model United Nations (AWMUN) gathers youth leaders from different parts of the world to help them widen their networks and share their different perspectives about global issues and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

With different themes for each event, the young participants get varied opportunities to develop skills they’d need to be great leaders.

Truly A Leader Worthy of Praise and Emulation

The City Government of Baguio, led by Mayor Maurico Domogan, acknowledged Paran’s achievement by handing him Resolution No. 039, series of 2019.

And as per the resolution, Paran’s achievement makes him a good example worthy of emulation among the youth and recognition from the city government.

Out of 25,467 applicants from all over the globe, Paran is one of the 1,326 who participated in the AWMUN II.

According to Mayor Domogan, Paran was able to set a good example to the youth and he was able to show that our youth leaders in Baguio are globally competitive provided that they are given proper training and exposure to develop their skills as leaders.

The mayor then encourages Baguio youth to take advantage of opportunities to enhance their leadership skills and knowledge while staying away from vices, to ensure a brighter future in their chosen field of expertise.
