Baguio City to End the Month with a Grandparents’ Day Out

This coming Sunday, May 31, 2020, all grandparents in Baguio City will be given a special treat after months of staying at home since the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) period due to COVID-19.

On Sunday, grandparents will have their day out with two of their “apos” or grandchildren.

It was only when Baguio City transitioned to General Community Quarantine (GCQ) last March 16 that seniors were allowed to go out after Mayor Benjamin Magalong declared Sunday as a free day for them.

Grandparents’ Day Out

Senior citizens will have the chance to enjoy their day out on Sunday with two of their grandchildren who are 21 years old and below who likewise stayed at home during the ECQ.

Mayor Magalong advised all grandparents who will go out on Sunday to be extra careful and follow all health and safety protocols.

“It’s a treat to our seniors but keep in mind all the health and safety protocols such as the wearing of masks, social distancing, frequent hand washing or disinfecting, cough and sneeze etiquettes, among others.”
