Baguio City Reverts to twice a week Mall and Market Schedule and Sunday Lockdown






The Office of the City Mayor has released an advisory today, July 27, 2020, regarding changes in some of the policies that will be implemented in response to the sudden surge of COVID-19 cases in Baguio City.

Stricter Border Control

The city will be implementing stricter border control and ONLY ESSENTIAL TRAVELS will be allowed to enter Baguio City. Those who will be allowed entry must follow triage and registration protocols set forth by the city.

Mall and Market Schedule

Baguio City will be reverting to twice a week Mall and Market Schedule.

Sunday Lockdown

Implementation of lockdown within the city on Sundays will also take into effect for general decontamination and disinfection. Only frontliners, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities are allowed to go out.

The Baguio City Public Market will also be closed on Sundays for decontamination and disinfection purposes.

Wellness Activities

Wellness activities and other permitted activities will still be allowed but with heightened monitoring for health and safety protocols.





Stay Vigilant

In the same advisory, the mayor urged the public to remain vigilant and be extra cautious when it comes to fighting COVID-19 by adhering to minimum health standards such as wearing masks properly, washing or disinfecting hands constantly, and practicing social distancing. Mayor Magalong also advised patients who are experiencing flu-like symptoms to immediately inform officials of their respective barangay.

Over the weekend, the city’s total confirmed cases have risen to 44 due to the city’s move on expanded testing targeted at 10% of the population.
