12-Hour NGCP Power Interruption in Some Parts of Benguet and Baguio City on July 14, 2020

In a recent announcement by the Benguet Electric Cooperative (BENECO), a 12-hour brownout from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM will take effect on July 14, 2020 (Tuesday).

Reasons for the Power Interruption

This is a National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) scheduled power interruption. The reasons for the power interruption are the following:

1. Replacement of wood poles along Itogon-Ampucao 69kV Line Segment
2. Annual Preventive Maintenance and Testing of equipment and completion of other works at Itogon Substation
3. Corrective maintenance at La Trinidad Substation, Philex Metering facility and La Trinidad-Ampucao and Beckel-Loakan 69kV Lines

Areas Affected by the Power Interruption

The Areas Affected by this 12-hour power interruption are the following:

  • Baguio – Parts of Kias
  • La Trinidad – Upper Ambiong (near Lamut), Beckel
  • Itogon – Virac, Ampucao, Dalicno, Dalupirip, Tinongdan, Poblacion IT, Loacan (Camisong, Sabkil, Saldin, Beda, Luneta, Otso, Ducot, Labilab, Tocmo, Anteg-in)
  • Bokod – Ambuklao (Guesset, Sombrero, Adonot, Banao, Minac, Lebeng, Hilltop, Ambangol)

The public is reminded to consider all lines energized as power may be restored anytime.
